  • Sandan Kumite--Three step continuous
  • Sandan Ippon Kumite--Three level
  • Kiso Kumite--Promise
  • Yakuso Kumite--Prearranged
  • Jissen Kumite--Acutal
  • Ohyu Kumite--Semi Actual
  • Jiyu Kumite--Free
  • Irukumi--Actual using kata
  • Bunkai Kumite--Kata Aplication
  • Gyo Bunkai Kumite--Continuous Kata

Points to Look for in Kumite

  1. Metski--Eye  Control
  2. Maai--Distancing
  3. Kokyu--Breath
  4. Isshin--Total Commitment
  5. Kiai--Spirit
  6. Kyushin--off balancing
  7. Taisabaki--Body Shifting
  8. Zanchin Total Awareness
  9. Seishin--Sincerity
  10. Kime--Focus
    1. Metski--hypnosis effect look for telegraphing
    2. Maai--Judge the technique for different situations
    3. Kokyu--Attack when inhaling, study nostrils, heavy breathing
    4. Isshin--if you have to die , you die, not thinking of consequences,  total commitment
    5. Kiai--scare opponent in all situation
    • Power out of body give to opponent number eight
    • Withstand the blow
    1. Kyushin--off balancing the mind and body so attack 
    2. Taisabaki--Shifting in direction of deflection
    3. Zanchin--Total commitment of situation no chance
    4. Seishin--Total sincerity in attack and defense
    5. Kime--Focus on what needs to be done and where power needs to be projected


    Types of Fighting Attitudes

    1. Sen no Sen--offense  fighter--attack all the time
    2. Go no Sen--Defense Fighter--defensive waits for opportunity to attack
    3. Sen offense and defensive  fighter defense is by interrupting
    4. Ato no Sen  - borrowing from opponent
    5. Soju no Sen controling the opponent
